A study of meiotic chromosomes in bulls carrying the 1 / 29 translocation
نویسندگان
چکیده
The meiotic chromosomes of 3 bulls carrying the 1/29 Robertsonian translocation have been studied. The abnormal chromosome was found in the spermatogonial mitotic divisions of the 3 animals studied. At the diacinesis stage, the trivalent presented several types of association. Chromosome counting of metaphases II showed the presence of 30.2 p. 100 of unbalanced karyotype cells due to excess or lack of chromosomes.

متن کاملRobertsonian Translocation and Its Effect on Fertility in Japanese Black Cattle
To confirm the distribution of chromosome abnormalities and their effects on fertility, a cytogenetic survey was carried out in five different herds of Japanese Black Cattle. The chromosome abnormality most frequently observed was the 7/21 Robertsonian translocation. This translocation was observed in a local herd at a fairly high frequency of 10.9% due to continuous use of the carrier bulls in...

A cytogenetical study on 13 alfalfa (Medicago sativa) cultivars available in Iranian Forest and Rangelands Genebank was performed in order to obtain basic information on the variability in chiasma frequency/distribution, chromosome association and segregation. Such cytogenetic information is useful for planning hybridization programs. Cluster analysis of meiotic data and ordination of cultivars...

Background: A balanced reciprocal translocation is a structural abnormality, which at least consist of breakage of two non-homologous chromosomes along with pieces exchange and form quadrivalant structure that can produce unbalanced chromosomes during meiosis I and result in a fetus abortion. The aim of the present study is to offer using preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) 24sure array, wh...

Reciprocal translocations produce imbalances by three types of disjunction which are, in decreasing frequency, adjacent 1, 3:1, and adjacent 2. Adjacent 1 disjunction produces duplication deficiencies of inverse topography to those of adjacent 2. The imbalanced chromosome segments in one of these types are balanced in the other. The disjunction 3:1 produces pure trisomies and monosomies. The fo...
